Breabach     BREABACH (ÉCOSSE/U-K) & LE VENT DU NORD produce exlusive collaboration as part of Scotland innovative Tune Up tour. The two bands recognize the common link between their cultures and their music, through the migration of people from Scotland over to Québec in the past. During the proposed tour, the aim of the musicians is to discover more about their common heritage through their music and to create a collaborative approach to performing this.   Music and songs originating from Scotland will be followed on their journey across the ocean to their new home in North America, where a new interpretation gave them a new life.  Both bands will perform their own music and will also collaborate together in a way which reinforces the links between the two nations and their music.  The presentation to their audiences will provide an evening’s entertainment as well as an enjoyable lesson in cultural history. Workshops also on offer.

3 gars su'l sofa     After more than 200 shows following the beat of their first album over some 83,895 kilometres, last April 3 GARS SU’L SOFA launched their second album and show, Cerf-volant. The trio, still inspired by the splendour of everyday life, dispense personal and intimate lyrics imbued with a poetry that remains fresh and moving. With the addition of a drummer-percussionist, the group’s new show takes on a definitely more percussive character, nurturing a folk-like tendency with nostalgic accents that flirt from time to time with country.

Les Charbonniers de l'enfer     LES CHARBONNIERS DE L'ENFER have been burning the boards of venues all over Québec for the past 10 years. It is the only «québécois» a capella group specialising in the research and interpretation of the oral tradition repertoire. To the rhythm of their voices, is added the tap of their feet. The group is formed of five experienced singers who have developed a harmonic complicity very much of here. The originality of their approach is marked by their sense of the actualisation of the repertoire which ensures, at the same time, the continuity of the vocal heritage.

1755     1755 has defined Acadian music and has a fan base that spans many generations. Acadian poet Gerald LeBlanc, who penned many of the band’s songs, once said that 1755 has written one of the most important chapters in contemporary Acadian music. With more than 30 years of experience on the stage, 1755 has inspired many of today’s Acadian artists. «In short, it was their genuine accents and attitudes that won crowds over with blunt honesty. » By Jesse Robichaud - Times

These gentlemen need no introduction—they have criss-crossed Quebec and found success well beyond our borders with popular traditional groups such as La Bottine Souriante, Les Charbonniers de l’Enfer..
